The Whole30

Image
Last week I attempted the Whole30 diet and decided to share my results here. First I only stuck to the diet for 1 week. After researching lots of diets over the course of the last few months I looked into the Whole30 and thought, besides the dramatic cut of a few food groups, it could be a good option. This diet was very hard to stick to because it is not flexible for any lifestyle but it's own. In case you were unaware the Whole30 diet is where you eat clean for 30 days and if you mess up once you are supposed to start back at day 1. This is supposed to completely reset your digestive system. You eat moderate portions of meat, seafood and eggs; lots of vegetables; some fruit; and natural fats. This diet is very hard to stick to because you have to pretty much bring all of your food with you wherever you go. It is also very healthy because you cut out all of the processed foods you usually eat. If you are looking for a diet that would be more convenient, this would not be

"Trail Mix"

Image
Happy Monday! Today I am sharing my take on trail mix. The trail mixes that you can buy premade a the store a really not my thing, I just don't like eating them. So I found this amazing recipe for this incredible treat! So this is super easy to make you take 3 parts almonds to 3 parts mixed dried berries to barely 1 part dark chocolate chips! I make this container of the snack and then pour it into a little travel container throughout the week so that it is easy to take with me on the go!

Gluten Free Banana Muffins

Image
Today I am sharing one of my favorite breakfast treats! I adapted this recipe which you can find here to make these delicious gluten-free muffins. Ingredients: 3 very ripe bananas 1 egg 1/4 cup plain greek yogurt or sour cream 1/4 cup vegetable oil 3 Tbsp. milk 1 Tbsp. vanilla 1 1/2 cups gluten-free flour (I use  this kind ) 3/4 cup sugar 1 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt Directions: Heat oven to 375 and grease muffins tins WELL, it makes about 12 muffins. Mash bananas, I ended up using a hand mixer to mash them. Whisk mashed bananas, egg, yogurt/sour cream, oil, milk, and vanilla. Pour the flour and sugar on top of the mixture then add soda and salt on top so they do not touch liquid. Whisk all together until smooth. I added a little sugar to the top of them. Bake for 20 minutes, until golden brown, and cool on rack.

Flannel + Hunters

Image
Happy Monday! Today I am sharing one of my go-to winter outfits for school or just running errands. It's perfect for when there is lots of snow! These Hunters have definitely been my favorite shoes that I got this winter and I would highly recommend them to everyone. I have shorter legs and so the tall Hunters weren't always very comfortable on me, so these are MUCH more practical. Flannel  |   Vest  |   Leggings  |   Hunters
